Spring has definitely arrived 'round these parts, which has reminded me of a couple things. First, I HATE bugs that buzz and sting, and I often perform embarrassing, uncontrollable flailing movements at the sight of them. Second, there are just so few people who don't look hilarious when roller-blading. The leaned-forward-arms-stiffly-waving-at-sides-step-step-step-try-to-glide thing is just awkward. Maybe I just feeling bad about myself because I'm not out exercising. Though a pregnant roller blader might be the funniest thing you'd ever see.
Speaking of spring, there's something I want to show you from this weekend. Can you guess what it is?
Technically it's a giant embroidered scene that was on a skirt that I found at a thrift store (and totally wore in college...yikes). But the real point is.....
It's art.....finally on the wall....in my kiddo's room! This was the first thing to get nailed up, and it felt pretty good.
At some point we'll also have to discuss how obsessed I am with the gray and white walls. And then someone should tell me how to photograph white walls so they actually look white.

what a cute idea!
ReplyDeleteI love embroidery. I'm not patient enough to do it, but there's something about it that I love. The enormous pieces in the V&A Museum were so stunning.
ReplyDeleteA pregnant roller-blader would be far better than what I saw when I first moved up here: a pregnant jogger in basketball shorts and a sports bra. No joke! She had her big, naked, pregnant belly just hanging out!
I love grey paint too! The picture looks so bright against the grey.
ReplyDeleteThat is SO lovely.
ReplyDeleteI recently found some old pictures of me (in the stuff that I wore back in the day). And none of it was nearly as cool as a skirt like this.
i totally remember the skirt! i like what you've done with things. :).
ReplyDeletethat is beautiful! what a great idea.
ReplyDeletegreat idea... love it!
ReplyDeleteAnnie! I just PINTERESTED YOU!!! Seriously, the paint and the embroidery art in the room look amazing! Maria told me that it looks really great, so it's good to see a sneak peek.
