Weekend Report: DST and Triangles

I wish I could say I'd done a bunch of super exciting stuff this weekend, but really we just got our butts kicked by Daylight Saving Time.  How does it manage to mess us all up so thoroughly just moving the clock back one hour?  It felt like midnight at 8pm last night. I'm still trying to figure out why we do it, exactly. Oy.

The highlight of the weekend was probably polishing off a whole loaf of homemade bread with magical honey butter (double the honey). No regrets.

I also got this garland hung (just cut one inch strips of felt, then cut the strips into triangles, then feed the triangles through a sewing machine flat-sides-first.).  Its job is to tide me over till it's socially acceptable to decorate for Christmas.

I'm too tired to think straight, so I'm going to stop typing now. Plus, there's another loaf of bread to eat...

  1. You finished it—and it looks amazing! I'm glad you used all the colors.

Also, I thought of something just today... that instead of feeding the triangles point first, I should have fed mine side-first (hypotenuse first?) through the machine. Fewer jams.

Regardless, I'm loving my one holiday decoration. Thanks for showing me how to make it.

  3. I love the garland. It reminds me of the pieced-quilt border, Flying Geese, which is my all-time favorite. It's a good way to use felt scraps too.
