You guys. Disney princesses potty trained my daughter.
Nothing we did was working. We couldn't convince her that the toilet wasn't scary and that she should put her....stuff....in it instead of on the floor. Finally I decided that we couldn't keep doing the same things and expect anything to change, so we sucked it up and bought the pink monstrosity with the bejeweled "flusher" that chimes. And now I believe in magic.
Ok, moving on to things that don't involve bathroom habits.
First, my logo. Did you notice it's been tweaked again and looks a thousand times better? I'm a wannabe graphic designer with the computer skills of an 80-year-old. So I have to give a huuuuge thank you to Melanie of Fifth & Hazel for saving my life and helping me kern the heck out of that darn LY so it would look nice. Seriously, if you want to hire someone to make things look fantastic, get in her line...she's awesome.
Second, my "About" page. I have one now! My next goal is to have a FAQs page. That would be totally legit, right? As it stands, I don't really get asked questions at all let alone frequently, so we'll have to work on that. Ask away, my friends.
And lastly, this blanket. I made it for my baby. (#supermom!) Sewing flannel and normal cotton together makes for a blanket with the perfect warmth and weight. I recommend it. If you are a company that makes baby goods, please note that it is masculine without being blue or having a baseball on it.
ohmygosh i'm forever in pursuit of becoming a "blanket person" - you know the kind? the ones who have a collection of blankets in their home, mostly handmade and totally warm and comfy. i'm not that person. i have a throw from target and a cheapie from ikea that i bought for no good reason.
ReplyDeletesoon - like any day now - i'll have my mom's hand me down bernina in my possession and i'm dying to put it to use. help me?
aubry, of course! it's a date.
ReplyDeletei love everything you are doing!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the blanket! Makes my mind wander with other ideas for a little boy. So cute.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know about a new blog I started called FEST about food, style & travel. I'd love it if you'd make a visit and follow along as I document my wardrobe challenge: to not but any clothes in 2012. It's gonna be great! Also, be sure to join the site so you can enter the giveaway.
XO,
Catherine
Love the blanket- especially the colors. :) So glad to hear potty training worked. I might have to give in to the princess potty too, as it's not going so well over here. PS the new logo looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteashmae...i love everything YOU are doing! catherine...i seriously need to take that challenge too! i might join you. emily...it's the best $30 we've ever spent! i have an e-book that helped me a lot too. email me if you're interested, and i'll send it to you.
ReplyDeletemy FAQ for you: will you remember me when you are famous? Like you could casually mention how you envied my bangs or something? Also, you have a cool style. I do not. But copying someone else's style doesn't make it mine, so I'll forever be style-less and wish I was like you.
ReplyDeleteLooove the blanket! And hooray for conquering potty training. For sure one of the hardest things a Mama does. And your logo! Gorge!
ReplyDeleteerin...send me a picture from when you were little, and i'll do a post about it, haha. i loved your bangs so much! crystal...i'm glad you like the logo! and yes about potty training. i was ready to pay someone a lot of money to do it for me.
ReplyDeleteDude. Princess mania runs rampant around here. Sometimes I think to myself, "Man, shouldn't I try to scale this back a little?" Then I get a little scared/ashamed when I realize that it is completely beyond my control.
ReplyDeleteI don't have words to tell you how much I love that blanket.
love the blanket. and i absolutely love that it is neither blue nor baseball-covered. :) both things i don't particularly love for my little man, either. you found some really cool prints. and thanks for the tip on the cotton/flannel combo. i'd like to try it.
