Baby Graham

I've been meaning to post something this week, but things came up. My new little nephew was born.  Joy! He has a rare congenital heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Sorrow. And as I type this he's undergoing his first of three open-heart surgeries. Terror.

I believe in the power of prayer, and I know all our well-wishes will bring clarity to the surgeon, strength to this beautiful little boy, and peace to my sister and her husband.

Update:  Success! He is doing great, and the doctor said the surgery went really well...textbook. We all might actually sleep tonight.

  1. My sisters little boy is just barely a month old now and had his first open heart surgery at two weeks old. He has very serious TOF with missing pulmonary valve. They gave him 30% chance survival and the surgery went better than any of the drs predicted. I've written about his experiences the past month on my blog at carlandemily.blogspot.com. not sure if he's at primarys or even in utah but if he is he is in great hands. Miracles do happen from prayer, we know that for sure. Hope he does well and continues to improve!

  6. I stumbled across your instagram and followed it to your blog. I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant with a little baby boy who was also diagnosed with HLHS. They keep saying its a rare congenital heart defect but I've been seeing it pop up all over. Glad to hear he's doing well after the Norwood. I'm praying my little guy will do as well after he's born. xoxo
